I'm Debbie with Watercolors That Glow!
At the start of my journey with watercolor painting, I felt overwhelmed by all the information I was receiving. To remedy this, I enrolled in various workshops and bought over a hundred books on the subject. However, none of them taught me WHY. Why was I using certain colors? How should they be chosen? What is color harmony? After two years of exploration, my palette included thirty plus colors, yet still offered no insight into why they were needed and what they meant. The answer came when I learnt how to reduce my confusion by focusing on three fundamental categories: transparent, staining and permanent colors. Suddenly, there was no longer any hesitation when it came to selecting the correct hue. All that remained were 3 colors with color wheel recipe cards! This approach resulted in vibrant paintings full of both contrast and harmony - artwork that eventually saw me participating in art shows and garnering awards! Now I am excited to share what I've learnt with beginners as well as more experienced painters alike.
